29/29 - THIRTEEN: Cheadle Lake Morning Walk

We hadn't been to Cheadle Lake for a while, and since the dog needed a nice walk we decided to pay a visit. It was a lovely morning.
Cheadle Lake
The usual gang was there.
And a few new faces.
We saw a number of the beautiful egrets, but we couldn't decide how many we saw, or if we were just seeing the same two over and over. They're one of my favorites.

  1. Beautiful! I love wandering with a camera, you see so many things and the memories you make! Beautiful pictures!

  2. Beautiful photos.

Driving to Eugene we've seen some egrets by the fishing pond just before Jerry's on Hwy99. I wasn't sure what they were at the time. Now I do, thank you.

  3. BlueKat:

It looks like a chilling cool day. We used to go for more walks when we had our dogs. Not so much lately

    Riding the Wet Coast

  4. A beautiful lake, love the low clouds in the background. Wandering around with a camera becomes second nature indeed, and there is beauty even in a grey day to be found.

  5. What a lovely place. I have yet to find a decent body of water that would attract water birds. One day...

  6. @Dar
Thanks. I can't go anywhere without a camera anymore. The whole memory-making thing is really what this blog is about - Making note of the journey

It would be wise to double check with a reliable source any flora/fauna information I might come up with. I'm a source of questionable reliability :-D

Yeah, Dogs do that for you. I wanted to go the wildlife refuge were dogs aren't allowed, hence the quick walk along Cheadle. But then we stopped at a bike shop and never made it to the refuge.

Thanks. The lake spent many years as a mill pond and needs a lot of work to make it nice again, but it's fun to see the progress being made. It was indeed a lovely day. the fog was just lifting, and everything seemed fresh and clear.

    @Bobskoot and Sonja
You may not know it, but you've been quite close to the lake. When we stopped at Walgreens after the Bend trip, and made the croc circle...Cheadle Lake is right behind Walgreens.

It's been lovely to see all the birds and wildlife come to the lake. It won't be long and we'll be discovering nests, followed by goslings and ducklings. So cute!

Thanks Dom. We were trying to get there before the fog lifted, and almost missed it. Ended up being a very nice day for a walk.
