Greenville to Camden Alabama - 5/10/15

~Late posting due to limited wifi the past few days~

Fewer dogs today. We had one give chase and nearly get hit. Another dog came to bark at us when we stopped near his property. He was a little ruffled, but  we had food and he was soon won over. Sweet guy. He looked fairly old, and didn't try to follow us down the road.

We had another little break at the store in Oak Hill. The owner had built a nice little deck beside his store and he welcomed us to use it. It was a nice little place to stop and sit for awhile.

We continued on to Camden where we stopped at Hardees to cool off and enjoy a drink. We managed to get on the wrong road in Camden. A number of highways come together in this spot. A phone call to May and she came back to town to lead us to the road to the state park where we would be staying.

Once on the right road we saw Roger up ahead come to a stop. His chain had broke! End of his ride for the day. He loaded the bike on the SAG car and was off to the park. Ace, Jo and I  rode the last 5 miles to the park.

Rolland Cooper State Park is a nice park with RV camping, Cabins a lake, and a golf course. We stayed in one of the cabins that, while dated, was a nice little house with 2 bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom and a deck that over looked an arm of the lake.

Upon examination of Roger's bike he found he also had a flat. He set to work fixing the chain and the flat only to find the derailleur didn't hang straight. Jo's bike was also having issues, so it was decided to take a rest day here and drive into Montgomery tomorrow for bike shop repairs.

Dinner was  a fantastic stir fry put together by May, Jo, and I, and fresh pineapple. Nom, Nom, Nom!
