Saturday in Scio

Saturday Ride. Was expecting to get wet but only a little mist at the end. Thanks May for the yummy brownies before and after.

That windshield in the last two pics, how does it do in strong winds?

Got a bit sprinkled on while hiking too but missed the big rainstorm. I am stil a bit wary about cycling in wet conditions. Do you use special rubber when it's wet?

Dom, the windshields handle the wind well. Makes the bike more aerodynamic. And if a tailwind then pushes them along. Some people take them off in summer so they can feel the breeze better. They roll up into a small tube. The recumbent bikes are quite heavy and more work going up hill but they are faster on the flats and downhills.

Hi Sonja, That’s the way it is this time of year. Good gear makes rain tolerable if not enjoyable. I use the same tires year round. Despite being “slicks” they have pretty good traction. Like motorcycles it’s more about avoiding slick surfaces like painted lines and such.

On a nearby road there is a downhill sharp corner and I can do it as fast or faster on my bicycle than my Ninja. This may say more about my cornering abilities on the motorcycle. 😂
